Assistant Construction Estimator (Tile)

B.N.T. Tile is a family-owned Commercial Tile Contractor seeking an Assistant Tile Estimator to join our team! This in-office role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills, a passion for delivering high-quality results, and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate will receive in-office training of how to estimate primarily commercial tile projects, complete submittals and project take-offs, and directly support the estimating team as they gain the necessary experience to become an Estimator. The starting hourly wage range will depend on experience, and there is room for growth within the company. Duties and Responsibilities Download, print, and review job plans to ensure alignment with project specifications. Conduct thorough research on material pricing to provide accurate cost estimates and competitive bids. Utilize Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook effectively for project management, documentation, and communication. Communicate professionally with general contractors and distributors, fostering strong business relationships. Assist in the preparation and submittal of bids to general contractors before due dates, ensuring compliance with project requirements. Assist in the preparation of accurate take-offs and estimates for commercial and residential tile projects, ensuring precision and adherence to project requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the overall success of tile estimation and project supervision efforts. Qualifications Strong math skills are required. Construction industry experience is preferred. Tile and/or flooring estimating experience is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for project management and communication is preferred. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze job plans and specifications. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to correspond professionally with general contractors and distributors. Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
