 Full Time Position Overview Kiewit Building Group (KBG) has an opening for a Jr. level Estimator in our growing Estimating Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Building Group Estimating Department, which includes civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, foundations, and materials disciplines, District Overview Kiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail and special-use facilities and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Its capabilities include general construction, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development. Kiewit also provides fast, accurate preconstruction project management services. .Location This position is based in our Lone Tree, Colorado office. Responsibilities
  • Review, analyze, and interpret Contract Documents (RFP, specifications, etc.).
  • Perform all tasks related to quantity takeoff and pricing of design-build projects in the vertcial construction market. 
  • Coordinate with estimators and engineers/designers to provide constructability input and value engineering for preliminary project plans.
  • Participate in Task Force Meetings, brainstorms, and working sessions with estimators and engineers/designers.
  • Identify, quantify, and communicate Risk throughout the estimating process.
  • Performing site visits and investigations as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred
  • 1+ years' experience in estimating 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Possess strong mathematical and computer skills
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Candidates must possess a strong work ethic
  • Work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
Base Compensation:
