Senior preferred; qualified mid-level candidates will be considerered. Company Overview Rocky Mountain Landscaping is a commercial landscape and irrigation contractor based in Cheyenne, WY. The company provides landscape construction and irrigation services for apartments, parks, schools, athletic fields, retail, etc. commercial projects.- Position Summary The Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for preparing accurate commercial bids and managing awarded projects from contract through close-out.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Review commercial plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope, exclusions, and risk
- Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed estimates for landscape and irrigation work
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from material suppliers and specialty subcontractors
- Submit competitive, complete bid proposals to general contractors and owners
- Prepare project budgets, schedules, and submittal packages following award
- Manage assigned projects from buyout through final close-out
- Prepare, price, negotiate, and track change orders through approval and billing
- Maintain job cost tracking and produce monthly margin, billing, and forecast reports
- Coordinate with field crews, suppliers, general contractors, owners, and architects
- Attend pre-construction, progress, and OAC meetings as required
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, schedules of values, and lien releases
- Oversee project close-out activities, including punch list, final billing, and warranty handoff
- Required Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of experience estimating and/or managing commercial subcontract construction projects (landscape, irrigation, sitework, or comparable trade)
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret commercial construction plans and specifications
- Proven experience preparing and negotiating commercial change orders
- Working knowledge of commercial contract terms, schedules of values, and progress billing (AIA or similar)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a commercial takeoff or estimating platform (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, HCSS, or equivalent)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications
- Estimating and project management experience specific to commercial landscape and/or irrigation
- Working knowledge of irrigation system design, plant material, hardscape, and landscape installation methods
- Compensation and Benefits
- Salary of $85,000
- $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience
