Duties Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop comprehensive cost estimates using tools like HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis to determine project costs accurately. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and cost control strategies that align with project goals and client expectations. Assist in managing contracts, change orders, and scope adjustments throughout the project lifecycle. Support project management teams by providing cost forecasts, tracking expenses, and ensuring adherence to budgets on construction sites. Utilize construction estimating best practices to optimize resource allocation, minimize risks, and enhance overall project efficiency. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating within commercial or heavy civil projects. Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent platforms. Demonstrated knowledge of Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup processes. Hands-on construction site experience that provides practical understanding of construction management and site operations. Familiarity with contract negotiations, scope development, and cost control techniques. Excellent skills in pricing strategies, value engineering, and managing multiple bids simultaneously. Background in project management or construction management is highly desirable to ensure seamless integration of estimates into project execution.
