Job Description:
Senior Estimator LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Estimator with at least 5 years of experience working in a similar role. This is a Temp to Perm opportunity within the Commercial Construction industry, located in Baltic, CT.
Responsibilities:
Produce detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and project budgets for a wide range of commercial developments, including office, retail, healthcare, education, industrial, and multifamily projects Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and supporting documents to develop accurate and well-supported estimates Manage the estimating effort for multiple projects at once, ensuring precision, consistency, and on-time completion Request, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing; prepare scope documentation and confirm full trade coverage Partner with architects, engineers, and owners during preconstruction to deliver cost guidance, value engineering solutions, and constructability input Build, maintain, and refine unit pricing libraries and historical cost data to support future estimates Support the development of proposals, bid submissions, and presentation materials for both competitive bids and negotiated work Review estimates prepared by junior team members, providing feedback, quality control, and ongoing mentorship Participate in turnover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction through project execution Stay current on industry trends, construction methods, materials, and market conditions that influence pricing
Experience:
Minimum 5-10 years of estimating experience, preferably in construction
