Occasional regional travel throughout Florida and the Southeast Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in pipeline construction and large-scale horizontal directional drilling (HDD) projects. This role is responsible for preparing competitive and accurate cost estimates for underground utility and pipeline installations, including water, sewer, gas, force main, and transmission infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has experience estimating complex HDD crossings, utility relocations, heavy civil construction, and pipeline projects ranging from municipal infrastructure to large-diameter installations. DBE is an underground utilities company with its main headquarters located in Palm Beach County, FL and satellite office in Jacksonville, FL . Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for: Pipeline construction projects Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) installations Open-cut utility work Force mains, water mains, sewer, and gas lines Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes Develop labor, equipment, and production rate calculations Analyze project risks and constructability Coordinate with operations, project management, and field teams Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed Assist with proposal preparation and bid submissions Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications 3+ years of estimating experience in pipeline or heavy civil construction Strong knowledge of: Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) Underground utilities Heavy equipment and production rates Florida utility construction practices Experience estimating large-diameter HDD crossings preferred Ability to read and interpret civil plans and utility specifications Proficiency with estimating software such as: HCSS HeavyBid B2W Estimate Agtek Bluebeam Excel Strong communication and organizational skills Valid driver's license Preferred Experience Municipal utility projects FDOT right of way utility work Large transmission pipeline projects Design-build infrastructure projects Projects exceeding $1M-$50M+ Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Paid time off and holidays Job Type - Full-time.
