Industrial Repair Estimator PeopleReady Skilled Trades - 3.6 Jacksonville, FL Job Details Full-time $26 - $45 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Cost estimate preparation Full Job Description PeopleReady Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Industrial Repair Estimator for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-established industrial repair and machining company. This position offers the opportunity to demonstrate your skills with the potential to join the client's team as a permanent employee based on performance and business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial equipment repair and the ability to accurately assess damaged equipment, develop repair scopes, and prepare detailed cost estimates. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on knowledge of industrial machinery, strong analytical skills, and the ability to produce accurate, competitive estimates that support project success and customer satisfaction. Candidates must be willing to work 10-12 hour shifts, up to 7 days per week.
PAY:
$30 - $45/hr based on experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect and evaluate damaged or worn industrial equipment to determine repair requirements and identify the most cost-effective solution Assess equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, rotating equipment, and other industrial machinery Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, machining, materials, replacement parts, subcontractor services, and project timelines Source materials and obtain pricing from vendors and OEMs while verifying availability and lead times Analyze project risks, including potential delays, unforeseen repairs, overtime requirements, and material availability Develop professional proposals, estimates, and scopes of work for customers and internal teams Collaborate with project managers, machinists, production personnel, and sales teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimate to production Track estimated versus actual project costs to improve future estimating accuracy Maintain organized estimating documentation and project records 3+ years of estimating experience in an industrial repair, machine shop, heavy equipment repair, or industrial maintenance environment is required Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems, rotating equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and machining processes Experience estimating repairs for industrial equipment rather than new construction or manufacturing projects Ability to accurately interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams #VHPA
