Job Title:
Distribution Designer/Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Distribution Designer/Engineer with 1-3 years of utility distribution design and engineering experience. This role involves supporting overhead and underground distribution projects, which may include pole replacements, transformers, reclosers, reconductoring, insulators, and voltage conversions using systems such as Bentley Open Utilities Designer (BOUD). The position requires field work and site visits as part of regular responsibilities. Responsibilities Design electrical distribution projects with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness. Organize and manage workload to ensure projects are completed through final delivery. Meet assigned deadlines while maintaining high-quality design standards. Communicate professionally and effectively with customers and internal stakeholders. Maintain consistent quality within a structured and deadline-driven environment. Perform field work and attend field meetings as required based on project needs. Participate in internal and external meetings as necessary. Essential Skills 1-3 Years of Distribution Design experience. Experience with AutoCAD is a must. Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures. Demonstrated leadership and technical capability. Additional Skills & Qualifications Engineering Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from a 4-year ABET-accredited institution preferred. Experience with Duke Energy Distribution Design (BOUD, PoleForman) highly preferred. SEDS experience preferred. Cable Pulling Assistant (CPA) experience preferred. Work Environment The role is based in the Maitland office, which comprises about 20 individuals. The position requires in-office presence and may involve field work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Maitland, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
