Key responsibilities:
  • Thoroughly review scopes of work prepared by various parties, including competing estimates, photographs, engineering reports, and specifications, to determine the cost of repairs.
  • Break down project costs into detailed categories like labor, materials, equipment, permits, and contingencies.
  • Accurately calculate the required quantities of materials needed for repairs.
  • Calculate labor hours needed for each project phase, considering crew size and productivity rates.
  • Analyze market trends, current material prices, and labor rates to ensure accurate cost estimates.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Florida General Contractor.
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Expertise in using construction estimating software (i.e., Xactimate) to generate accurate cost breakdowns.
  • Ability to analyze project documents and accurately calculate costs.
  • Clear and effective communication with clients, project managers, and attorneys.
  • Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy in cost calculations.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily remote-based position with several site visits per week to assess project conditions, verify/establish measurements, etc.
  • Virtual and in-person collaboration with project managers, clients, and attorneys, including depositions and trials.
