Full-Time Position Overview SCI Roofing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This position will play a critical role in supporting SCI's continued expansion in residential, commercial, condominium, HOA, government, and new construction roofing projects throughout South Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate roofing estimates, performing material takeoffs, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, reviewing plans and specifications, and assisting in bid submissions. This role will work closely with ownership, project management, and sales teams to support project acquisition and profitability. SCI Roofing specializes in:
Commercial Roofing (TPO, Modified Bitumen, SPF Roofing Systems) Residential Roofing (Tile, Metal, Shingle) Condominium & HOA Re-Roofing New Construction & Government Roofing Projects Roof Maintenance, Repairs & Restoration Key Responsibilities Estimating & Takeoffs Review plans, specifications, bid packages, engineering reports, and roofing scopes of work. Perform detailed roofing quantity takeoffs using estimating software, plans, aerial measurements, and field data. Prepare accurate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead estimates. Develop pricing for:
TPO roofing systems SPF roofing systems Modified bitumen systems Tile roofing systems Standing seam metal roofing Asphalt shingle systems Roof coatings and restoration systems Bid Management Prepare proposals and bid packages for: HOA and condominium reroofing Commercial roofing Municipal/government projects New construction roofing Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for pricing, assemblies, warranties, and technical support. Request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing. Assist in preparing RFIs, bid clarifications, scope comparisons, and value engineering recommendations. Preconstruction Support Review project plans for code compliance, constructability, and roofing scope completeness. Coordinate with manufacturers (GAF, General Coatings, Westlake, CertainTeed, Englert, etc.) regarding assemblies and warranty requirements. Assist with permit-related documentation and product approvals (NOAs, Florida Product Approvals, HVHZ requirements). Support project handoff meetings between estimating and operations teams. Software & Systems Preferred experience with: The EDGE Estimating Software (preferred) PlanHub Buildertrend Bluebeam Revu Microsoft Excel Roofing measurement software CRM and project management systems Qualifications Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Knowledge of Florida Building Code and South Florida/HVHZ roofing requirements preferred. Ability to read architectural, structural, and roofing plans. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. / modified bitumen systems Tile and steep-slope roofing Government/public bid projects Florida roofing codes and NOA requirements Compensation SCI Roofing offers a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Estimated Range:
$55,000 - $75,000+ annually depending on experience and capability. Performance bonuses may be available based on bid volume, awarded work, and company growth. Why SCI Roofing?
