In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing project plans and specifications, and collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing, effective cost control, and successful project execution from inception to completion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects while honing your skills in estimation, negotiation, and project management. Responsibilities Review detailed construction plans, specifications, and scope of work for asphalt paving and site development projects. Prepare comprehensive estimates using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam, ensuring accuracy in pricing and quantity takeoffs. Develop detailed cost proposals that include labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and overhead costs. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets, schedules, and cost control strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in the review and management of contracts to ensure scope alignment and risk mitigation. Support project management teams by providing timely estimates for change orders and additional work requests. Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, correspondence, and revisions for audit purposes. Experience Minimum 3 years experience in construction estimating with a focus on asphalt paving, heavy civil and site development projects. Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management practices, and contract administration. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve favorable terms. Solid understanding of construction site operations, safety standards, and cost control measures. Prior involvement in project management or construction management roles is a plus. Excellent communication skills combined with a detail-oriented approach to ensure deadlines are met, with accuracy in all estimates and documentation.
