Full-Time, onsite Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator with a strong background in structural steel and miscellaneous metals. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for fabrication and field installation projects. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience estimating both steel fabrication and field labor, and the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project requirements in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects Accurately quantify material takeoffs and apply current steel pricing Develop fabrication and field labor estimates, including erection, welding, and installation costs Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Identify cost risks, value engineering opportunities, and scope gaps Maintain and update estimating databases, productivity rates, and historical cost data Collaborate with project managers, detailers, and operations teams during preconstruction Support project handoff to operations after award Qualifications 3-5 years of estimating experience in structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals (required) Proven experience with both fabrication estimating and field labor estimating (required) Strong knowledge of steel construction methods, materials, and industry standards Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and shop plans Proficiency in estimating software and takeoff tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Tekla PowerFab, or similar) Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities Effective communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working for a steel fabricator or erector Advanced Excel skills Compensation Competitive salary based on experience Higher compensation available for candidates with Senior Estimator experience Benefits package includes health insurance, PTO, retirement plan, cell phone reimbursement, and bonuses Why Join Us Established company with a strong reputation in structural and miscellaneous steel Collaborative team environment Opportunity for growth into senior estimating or leadership roles Consistent pipeline of commercial and industrial projects
