3-5 Years About the Role We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Estimator with inside sales responsibilities to join our team. You'll be the critical link between our customers and the shop floor — reading prints, quoting jobs accurately, and building lasting customer relationships. If you thrive in a fast-paced job shop environment and take pride in winning work with competitive, well-built quotes, this role is for you. What You'll Do Estimating (Primary) Review customer RFQs, engineering drawings, and CAD models to develop accurate cost estimates for CNC machined, turned, and fabricated parts Analyze part geometry, tolerances, materials, and finishing requirements to determine routing, cycle times, and setup times Collaborate with shop leads and programmers to validate assumptions and ensure quotes reflect real-world producibility Maintain and improve estimating templates, labor rates, material pricing, and overhead factors Meet quote turnaround deadlines while managing a high volume of RFQs Track quote-to-win ratios and identify trends to sharpen future bids Inside Sales (Secondary) Serve as a primary point of contact for existing and prospective customers via phone and email Follow up on open quotes, negotiate pricing when appropriate, and close orders Manage customer expectations around lead times, scheduling, and delivery Support business development by identifying upsell opportunities and new work from existing accounts Assist in onboarding new customers and maintaining account records in the ERP What You Bring 3-5 years of estimating experience in a job shop, contract manufacturing, or precision machining environment Solid ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T Working knowledge of CNC milling, turning, and fabrication/welding processes and their cost drivers Familiarity with aerospace/defense work, including common specs (e.g., AS9100, ITAR awareness) is a strong plus Experience with ERP/MRP or estimating software (Shoptech E2, JobBOSS, ProShop , or similar. We operate in ProShop and we also have Paperless Parts) Strong math skills and attention to detail — a mistake in a quote costs real money Professional, responsive communication style with customers and coworkers Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines without dropping the ball Nice to Have Background as a machinist, programmer, or manufacturing engineer — hands-on shop experience translates directly to better quotes Experience quoting defense or aerospace programs with long-term contract potential Familiarity with material certifications, first article requirements, and quality documentation What We Offer Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
