New College Grad Commercial Construction Estimator

The Role This is an entry level Estimating and Sales position with light project management support after award. You'll be responsible for performing takeoffs, preparing competitive bids, and building strong relationships with general contractors within a 100-mile radius of your assigned market. This is not a cold-calling role — bid invitations come inbound through existing relationships or strategic outreach, so you'll spend your time doing meaningful work from day one. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Preconstruction Analyze architectural drawings and specifications to determine scope of work Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and internal pricing tools Prepare and submit 2-3 competitive bids per week, applying labor, material, and markup Track bid follow-ups, scope differences, and customer feedback Assist with submittal preparation and light project handoff documentation Sales & Client Relations Build and maintain relationships with top GCs (client list provided) Follow up on submitted bids to clarify scope, pricing, and close work Attend networking functions and ABC meetings to strengthen client ties Represent Alpha as a trusted partner within your local commercial construction community Project Support (Post-Award) Support Superintendents with submittals, material selections, and change order pricing Help keep awarded projects organized and on track — this is a support role, not day-to-day project management Who We're Looking For We're open to a wide range of construction backgrounds. Ideal backgrounds include:

Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or Business Management Internship with commercial construction company 1-5 years in estimating, sales, or a specialty trade (Division 7 experience is a plus, not a requirement) The most important thing is that you can read a set of plans, understand scope, and communicate confidently with GCs and field crews alike.

Skills & Tools:

Able to read and interpret commercial blueprints and specifications Proficient or willing to learn Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel (basic formulas required) Strong written and verbal communication skills Well-organized, self-directed, and accountable to goals Confident, personable, and motivated to pursue and close work Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Willing to travel locally for jobsite visits and client meetings

Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
