Project Estimator

Duties Develop detailed construction cost estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs to accurately determine material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms. Analyze project scope changes and update estimates accordingly to reflect current project requirements. Assist in bid preparation by compiling comprehensive proposals that include pricing, schedules, and risk assessments. Monitor project budgets during execution to ensure cost control measures are maintained effectively. Review contracts and scope of work documents to ensure all aspects of the project are accurately estimated and accounted for. Support project management teams by providing cost insights that influence scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation decisions. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations. Solid knowledge of construction management principles, contract administration, and cost control techniques. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing. Construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand field conditions impacting estimates. Familiarity with reading blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings for accurate quantity takeoffs. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
