  • Des Moines Walsh Door + Security is seeking a Construction Detailer to be part of the team at our Des Moines location.

Job Description:
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and contract requirements to prepare accurate schedules for doors, frames, and hardware on commercial construction projects Review contract documents to accurately detail opening quantities required for projects Enter costs in the scheduling process and compare to the estimated costs Prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using manufacturer catalog cut sheets to support the products selected in the schedule Prepare required drawings for elevations and corresponding sections as necessary using company software Review the schedules and submittals for any errors that can affect the project prior to sending the job out for approval
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred in mathematics, engineering, or similar fields of study AutoCAD or Revit software experience preferred Mechanical aptitude Detail-oriented Must be able to handle multiple projects under a deadline Must have ability to handle large work load, multitask, and maintain a positive attitude "Will do", trainable, team player type attitude Must pass pre-employment drug screen and security background check Extensive training for commercial doors, frames, and hardware will be provided. Extensive research from manufacturer catalogs, technical documents and price books will be required.
