This role is responsible for managing incoming bid opportunities, reviewing plans and scopes of work, completing takeoffs, organizing bid documents, and preparing clear project summaries for estimator/project manager review. This position is not responsible for final pricing or final bid submission . The primary responsibility is to turn bid invites, drawings, specifications, and scopes into organized information that can be quickly reviewed, priced, and submitted by the estimating/project management team. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply, provided they have demonstrable experience using takeoff software and a strong ability to read or interpret construction drawings. DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and manage incoming bid invites from general contractors, construction managers, bid platforms, and customer emails. Review bid invites to identify project name, location, customer, bid due date, project type, and available documents. Download, organize, and maintain plans, specifications, addendums, bid forms, RFIs, alternates, and scope sheets. Review blueprints and specifications to understand the scope of work Norvex is being asked to perform. Complete takeoffs for painting, coatings, surface preparation, wall coverings, floor coatings, insulation, and related scopes as needed. Calculate square footage, linear footage, quantities, surfaces, rooms, elevations, areas, and other measurable items needed for estimating. Prepare clean project summaries that explain the project, scope of work, key quantities, and important bid notes. Track bid due dates and help ensure the estimating team has enough time to review, price, and submit bids. Flag missing information, unclear scopes, plan/spec conflicts, addendum changes, or questions that may require an RFI. Hand off organized bid packages to the estimator/project manager for pricing and final bid submission. Keep internal bid trackers, files, and bid platform statuses updated. IDEAL CANDIDATE
Understands construction drawings, scopes of work, and construction terminology. Has strong attention to detail and can stay organized across multiple bid opportunities at once. Can read plans, identify relevant scope, and produce accurate quantities for estimating review. Has demonstrable experience using takeoff software. Is comfortable working with deadlines and understands that bid due dates cannot be missed. Communicates clearly with estimators, project managers, office staff, and customers when needed. Can identify missing information, scope gaps, and plan/spec conflicts before a bid is priced. Is willing to learn Norvex Industrial's services, estimating process, filing system, and internal workflow. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience with construction takeoffs, estimating support, bid coordination, or construction document review. Experience reading commercial, industrial, municipal, or public project drawings and specifications. Experience with painting, coatings, drywall, flooring, insulation, steel, or related construction trades is helpful. Experience using bid platforms such as BuildingConnected, PlanHub, ConstructConnect, Blue Book, Dodge, Procore, SmartBid, or similar platforms. Experience with takeoff/PDF software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, STACK, or similar tools. KEY SKILLS
