Technical Sales Support Specialist/Drafter What You Will Do The Technical Sales Support Specialist provides technical expertise and product guidance to support the Security sales organization throughout the pre‑sales and sales process. This specialist has a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Drafting standards and applies them towards the execution of Sales Orders or ECNs This role follows established procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with Johnson Controls' standards. How You Will Do It Provide technical information, product guidance, and application support for Johnson Controls' solutions before and during the sales process Support sales teams by clarifying technical specifications, system capabilities, and product configurations Respond to technical inquiries while adhering to standard processes, tools, and documentation requirements Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, sales) to resolve technical questions Ensure all technical recommendations align with company policies, safety standards, and compliance requirements Read and understand technical drawings of components such as instruments, control panels, starter, etc. Develop wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical 2024 (Bentley, Plant 3D or Inventor experience is a plus) Develop 2D plan, elevation and section drawings of control panels using AutoCAD Electrical. Includes mounting components, terminal blocks, associative dimensioning and avoiding interference between equipment. Document and track technical requests as required What We Look For (Required Qualifications) Bachelor's degree with 1+ year of related technical or sales support experience, or CAD education with equivalent experience. Associate degree with 6+ years of related experience Basic understanding of technical products or systems (Fire, Security, preferred) Strong communication and problem‑solving skills Ability to follow established procedures and work within defined guidelines Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting technical sales teams or customer‑facing roles Familiarity with Johnson Controls products or similar building technology solutions Experience working in a structured, process‑driven environment Proficiency with CRM tools or technical documentation systemsHIRING HOURLY RANGE
$32-42.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
