The Estimator generates estimates and new business opportunities within assigned markets Essential Functions Generates and develops quotes Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare quotes/estimates Computes various cost factors Prepares budgets and schedules for work Ensures all estimates meet or exceed company and customer's expectations, as well as regulatory requirements Develops beneficial business relationships Develops good working relationships with vendors, subcontractors, clients and INDOT personnel Develops a network and contacts within the community Performs day-to-day estimating tasks Sets up jobs in job costing Generates purchase orders and subcontractor agreements Reviews billings, prepares change orders and job cost reports Communicates with internal/external customers Answers inquiries via phone, email or in-person Provides highest levels of customer service Makes presentations to large and small groups Translates technical information into easily understood language Promotes and maintains safe work environment Exhibits safe work behaviors Wears all prescribed PPE Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills. Education Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction management or related field Experience Qualifications Required 3+ years in Heavy Highway/Civil/Asphalt Paving/Bridge construction or related field preferred Skills and Abilities Communication Proficiency Customer/Client Focus Diversity and Inclusion Results Driven Stress Management/Composure Teamwork Orientation Licenses and Certifications PE license is preferred Preferred Drivers License is required Required Working Conditions/Physical Demands Clerical office environment Indoor lab conditions that include standard office equipment such as computers, photocopier, phone, filing cabinets, fax machines, cubicles Sits at a desk regularly Looks at a computer screen 8 hours a day Performs data entry, alpha and 10-key numeric, on a keyboard Uses copy/fax to scan documents Drives a motor vehicle May lift or move up to 10lbs Regular travel to job sites, customer sites, and corporate offices around the state is required; mostly day trips, but some overnight travel may be required About Milestone Contractors Milestone Contractors is a privately held, family-owned business headquartered in Indianapolis.
