Masonry & Hardscapes Estimator (Design Experience a Plus) Position Overview KC Stone is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Masonry & Hardscapes Estimator . This is a key, mission-critical position within the company—responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and profitable project estimates. The Estimator is the foundation of our bidding success, driving revenue through precise takeoffs, cost analysis, and clear communication. While the primary responsibility is estimating, candidates with basic design abilities —such as creating conceptual layouts or simple renderings—will be considered a strong bonus to support sales and client presentations. Design experience is not required , but valued.

Key Responsibilities Primary:

Estimating (Core Function) Review architectural masonry plans, blueprints, landscape drawings, and specifications to determine scope. Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for masonry, pavers, retaining walls, and outdoor living elements. Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing. Conduct on-site evaluations to collect measurements, elevations, access details, and potential challenges. Develop clear, professional proposals on behalf of KC Stone. Collaborate with project managers, sales, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure bid accuracy. Maintain estimating logs, historical pricing, and organized records. Identify risks, constructability issues, and value-engineering opportunities. Estimating is the primary and most essential part of this role. Secondary (Bonus): Design Support Design is not required but is considered a valuable skill. Provide basic conceptual layouts or simple 2D/3D visuals to support proposals. Assist with material selections, color choices, and layout recommendations. Update or adjust existing plans to reflect constructability or client changes. Coordinate with engineers when structural elements require professional design input. Design abilities enhance the role but do not replace the core estimating responsibilities. Qualifications Proven experience in masonry, hardscapes, or construction estimating (required). Ability to read and interpret construction and landscape plans. Strong understanding of hardscape systems, masonry materials, retaining walls, and outdoor living construction. Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills. Strong communication skills and professional presentation abilities. Basic design or rendering skills (a plus, not required). Valid driver's license and ability to perform site visits. Pay:

$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
