Job Description

We are a commercial flooring contractor with over 45 years of experience working with general contractors, owners, and nationwide institutions on commercial projects in the Kansas City Metro. We are looking to bring another highly motivated experienced estimator/project manager for either our Ceramic Tile or Flooring divisions. We offer a competitive salary, health/ dental/ vision & life insurance, Paid vacation & holiday. 3% IRA retirement. We are only hiring those with a Minimum of 2-years experience either estimating or project managing flooring for commercial projects. Being a people person with a great attitude is important. This position is responsible to prepare timely, accurate, and competitive bids, secure contracts, negotiate projects along with project management duties on awarded contracts. A successful candidate must meet the following requirements: Familiarity with Ceramic Tile and understanding of commercial flooring materials and installation. Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and specs. Proficient in Microsoft Office products and use of cloud-based software. Demonstrate sharp mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure, fast paced environment. Effectively manage day-to-day interaction with vendors, general contractors, field management, and office personnel. Ability to quickly learn and master new skills. A partial list of duties and responsibilities: Read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, specs, and develop accurate estimates Perform drawing take-offs and estimates. Work with vendors to secure material pricing. Coordinate with the client on all changes in scope, questions, or clarifications regarding the work, during the bidding process. Manage multiple projects simultaneously till completion. Develop a cost-effective project plan and schedule to complete the project on time and within budget. Manage and track revisions to the plan as required. Review drawings, plans and specs to ensure specifications and regulations are followed and appropriate construction methods are applied. Create and track Product Data and Submittal's, both electronic and/or physical. Order and track materials. Working with Field Operations to meet and maintain schedule expectations. Preparing/Tracking Change Orders for any changes, revisions, and additions to project. Creating billing SOV's and updating them on monthly basis for accountant Maintain all project plans, specifications, keeping detailed records, writing reports and other documents for future reference.
Salary:
This position for Estimator/Project Manager is a salary plus commission pay structure. Starting salary is to be determined by level of experience. Ability to earn $100,000+ is feasible with appropriate time and effort invested.
