Job Description
About Us Lawnscape Solutions is a fast-growing, high-momentum landscaping and outdoor design company based in Baton Rouge. We pride ourselves on executing premium projects, moving quickly, and delivering exceptional quality to our clients. Because we are expanding rapidly, we are looking for a high-performing professional who wants to take true ownership of their work, grow with the company, and actively help lead our daily operations. Position Overview This is not an entry-level desk job. We are looking for a dynamic, adaptable, and highly responsible Landscape Estimator & Field Operations Lead . This unique position directly bridges the gap between client vision and field execution.
The Core Dynamic:
Your primary focus will be client management, site assessments, and building precise project estimates. However, when estimation cycles are light or field crews need assistance, you will step directly into the field to lead, support, coordinate logistics, and keep our active jobs moving forward smoothly. If you are someone who can think on your feet, move fast, solve problems independently, and transition seamlessly between corporate professional communication and hands-on field support, this role is built for you. Key Responsibilities1. Estimation & Project Planning (Primary Focus) Conduct face-to-face consultations with homeowners and commercial clients to understand their project goals. Perform accurate field measurements, terrain evaluations, and site assessments. Develop comprehensive project scopes, material take-offs, labor projections, and profitable pricing estimates. Draft and deliver polished, accurate project bids to clients in a timely, professional manner. Maintain regular communication with prospective clients to answer questions and close sales. 2. Field Support & Leadership (Dynamic Hybrid Duty) Step onto active jobsites to manage, motivate, and direct crew members during peak operational periods. Coordinate and secure project materials, tools, and staging demands to prevent crew downtime. Establish clear morning objectives and structural checklists for the field team to ensure alignment with project designs. Provide physical, in-field support to the production crew whenever necessary to hit aggressive deadlines. Enforce safety practices, company standards, and strict quality control across all active jobsites. 3. Team Communication & Operations Serve as the primary communication link between management, field crews, and clients to keep jobs moving efficiently. Proactively identify and resolve material shortages, scheduling conflicts, or design modifications on-site. Utilize digital company tools and CRM tracking systems to update job statuses, upload measurements, and log client records. Qualifications & Requirements Industry Experience:
Previous experience in landscaping, hardscaping, civil construction, or specialized trade estimation is a big plus. Technical Proficiency:
Strong ability to read design layouts, calculate complex square footage/volume/slopes, and compile structural scopes of work. Ownership Mindset:
Exceptional work ethic with an internal drive to operate autonomously, problem-solve without constant supervision, and take accountability for errors. Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills suited for presenting high-ticket proposals to clients and motivating construction crews. Physical Capability & Agility:
Must be comfortable working long hours outdoors in typical Louisiana weather conditions and capable of lifting heavy materials alongside crews when needed. Logistics & Licensing:
Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean record; familiarity with navigating the greater Baton Rouge area is required. What We Offer Competitive salary tied directly to experience. Strong growth and upward mobility avenues within a fast-expanding company. Project or sales performance bonuses. Company vehicle access or mileage stipend for site visits. Supportive, fast-paced team environment. Paid time off and holiday structures.
