Multi-Family Construction Job Overview Prominent Builders Inc is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Construction Estimator to join our Project Management team in the Greater Boston area. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects while supporting preconstruction planning and project strategy. The ideal candidate is an experienced estimator who can manage multiple bids simultaneously, prioritize deadlines effectively, and is motivated to grow into a Preconstruction Manager role. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for Multi-Family residential construction projects Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop complete scope coverage Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis Develop conceptual and preliminary budgets during early project phases Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and leadership to ensure seamless handoff from preconstruction to operations Assist in scope review, bid leveling, and contract preparation Maintain organized estimating files and documentation Qualifications Minimum 4+ years of experience in construction estimating (Multi-Family required) Experience estimating residential and/or commercial construction projects Bachelor's Degree preferred (Construction Management, Engineering, or related field) Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents Experience performing quantity takeoffs and managing subcontractor bid packages Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication and negotiation skills Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite A background check will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws Benefits Compensation & Financial Benefits $65,000 - $100,000 per year Performance-Based Bonus Retirement Savings Program Bi-Weekly Pay Cycle Health & Wellness Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life and Disability Insurance Options Work-Life Balance Paid Time Off (Holidays, Vacation, Sick Time) Monday-Friday Schedule Career Development Growth Path to Preconstruction Manager Paid Training and Certifications Leadership Development Opportunities Additional Perks Company Vehicle or Mileage Reimbursement (as applicable) Tech Package (Smartphone or Tablet) Uniforms Provided Company Events Schedule Full-Time Monday - Friday Standard business hours (additional time may be required during bid deadlines) Work Location Onsite at Prominent Builders Inc projects and office locations in the Greater Boston, MA area Local travel to project sites as needed Equal Employment Opportunity We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
