Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Estimator, where your expertise will drive the success of our projects from initial concept to completion. In this energetic role, you will analyze project plans, prepare accurate cost estimates, and collaborate with clients and contractors to ensure seamless project execution. Your proactive approach and detailed understanding of construction processes will help us deliver high-quality results on time and within budget. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse construction projects while honing your skills in estimation, negotiation, and project management. Responsibilities Interpret and review architectural drawings, plans and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates. Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to assist with the preparation of estimates. Assess the cost effectiveness of projects or services and track actual costa as the project develops. Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. Prepare and submit financial documents including budgets, bids and contracts. Consult with engineers, architects, and contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Maintain a database of cost-related information such as subcontractor quotes, material costs and labor rates. Prepare and present cost reports and forecasts to project managers. Stay up to date on industry standards and new materials in the market that could affect costs. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Analyze blueprints, plans and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimate and resolve issues. Present prepared estimates for use by management in planning and organizing project budgets. Use computer sofware to calculate estimates and evaluate a projects financial feasibility. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong background in heavy civil or commercial projects. Proficiency in estimating tools such as Planswift is highly preferred. Solid understanding of construction site operations, management practices, and contract negotiations. Demonstrated ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and pricing strategies. Experience working on construction sites or within construction management teams is a plus. Knowledge of cost control techniques and project management principles to ensure successful project delivery. Excellent communication skills for effective negotiation and collaboration across teams.
