Hudson, MA Reports to: VP Business Development Job Overview Company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cost Estimator to support mission-critical manufacturing and defense programs. This position plays a key role in developing accurate, timely, and well-documented cost estimates for both legacy and new business opportunities. The Senior Cost Estimator will collaborate closely with Business Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and cross-functional leadership teams to evaluate project requirements, assess risk, and support competitive proposals. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead cost estimating activities supporting manufacturing and defense-related programs.
• Develop detailed cost models and pricing strategies for both existing and new business opportunities.
• Analyze labor, materials, machining, welding, overhead, and subcontractor costs.
• Build, review, and validate Basis of Estimate (BOE) documentation.
• Support proposal development and pricing submissions for Department of Defense and commercial programs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to gather estimating data.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, manufacturing processes, and technical requirements.
• Review historical program data and benchmarking information to support estimate accuracy.
• Identify process improvements and recommend efficiencies related to cost estimating systems and reporting.
• Assist in evaluating production costs, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Support cross-functional discussions regarding risk assessment, pricing strategy, and schedule impacts.
• Maintain strong documentation practices and ensure compliance with internal estimating procedures.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of cost estimating experience within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of machining, welding, and manufacturing processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Experience utilizing ERP systems and estimating software preferred.
• Exposure to AI query systems or data analysis tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Schedule & Work Environment This position operates on a preferred 5x8 schedule aligned with Business Development and customer support functions. The role is based onsite in Hudson, Massachusetts and works closely with the Business Development team.
