Construction Estimator

INTRODUCTION

Established Federal General Contractor is currently seeking an enthusiastic motivated individual who is extremely organized with exceptional communication and time management skills; and who is eager to contribute to a fast-paced, growth-driven company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Federal Estimating Leadership Lead preparation of detailed estimates for federal and public-sector projects Analyze plans, specifications, RFPs, RFQs, and design documents Develop quantity take-offs, conceptual budgets, and final bid submissions Participate in bid strategy, risk analysis, and proposal positioning Government Contracting Expertise Interpret federal solicitations (DoW, GSA, VA, public agencies) Ensure compliance with FAR, Davis-Bacon wage requirements, and government procurement standards Assist in proposal documentation and submission coordination Identify cost, compliance, and schedule risks early Preconstruction & Subcontract Formation Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor/vendor proposals Prepare scopes of work and assist in drafting subcontracts based on accepted subcontractor proposals Ensure scope completeness, pricing clarity, and appropriate contract flow-down requirements Coordinate closely with project management during subcontract award and handoff Strategic Contribution Support business development initiatives and proposal pursuits Strengthening subcontractor relationships within federal markets Mentor junior estimators when applicable Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes

QUALIFICATIONS

Required 7+ years construction estimating experience (Federal Projects strongly preferred) Experience with government contracting, FARs, public bids, or institutional construction Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and cost drivers Experience reviewing subcontractor proposals and preparing subcontract scopes/contracts Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook and Adobe Self-disciplined to work well independently Excellent communication and organizational skills Experience with Federal and Military mission-critical facilities Design-Bid-Build experience

Pay:

$50,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
