- Full-time Paint Estimator / Project Manager Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized paint estimator / assistant project manager to support residential and commercial painting projects from estimating through project completion.
This role combines accurate job estimating with project coordination, scheduling support, customer communication, and field assistance to help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company quality standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both in the office on a computer and in the field, has strong communication skills, and can manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Estimating Duties Perform on-site visits to evaluate residential and commercial painting projects Measure surfaces and calculate labor, material, and equipment requirements Prepare accurate estimates and proposals using company pricing systems Identify project scope, access challenges, surface preparation needs, and special conditions Review plans, drawings, specifications, and customer requests Communicate with customers regarding project details, expectations, and pricing Follow up on bids and maintain records Assistant Project Management Duties Assist project managers with scheduling crews and equipment Coordinate material orders and deliveries Help monitor project budgets, labor hours, and production progress Conduct job site visits to ensure quality, safety, and production standards are met Maintain communication between customers, crews, vendors and management Document change orders, job updates, and project notes Assist with project closeout, punch list, and customer walkthroughs, as required Support problem-solving and issue resolution during active projects Qualifications Experience in painting, construction estimator or project management/coordination preferred Ability to read blueprints and project specifications is a plus Strong math and measurement skills Excellent organization and time management abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and estimating/project management software Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required AutoCAD, Stack Pro or Glazier software experience is helpful, but not required Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check Physical Requirements Ability to walk active job sites, climb ladders and inspect work areas Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance bonuses opportunities Use of company vehicle during work hours Paid time off and holiday pay
