Injection Molding Cost Estimator Direct Hire Department:

$75,000 - $95,000 Benefits and PTO included Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically driven Cost Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for injection molds and tooling programs while supporting customers throughout the pre-launch process. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, tooling, engineering, or estimating and possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. This position plays a critical role in supporting business growth by developing competitive quotations, collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams, and ensuring profitability on new programs. Key Responsibilities Prepare labor and material cost estimates for injection molds and tooling programs using pricing models, historical data, and engineering documentation. Review and analyze CAD models, RFQs, blueprints, tool designs, bills of materials, layouts, and customer specifications. Participate in RFQ lineups, design reviews, tooling meetings, and customer pre-launch activities. Develop and present cost reports and quote findings to management, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Support internal contract reviews and initiate job kick-off processes for awarded programs. Maintain quote documentation, contract reviews, and project launch records. Track profitability of awarded jobs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Assist in improving estimating systems, quote models, and CRM/sales software processes. Collaborate with Program Management, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing teams to support successful project execution. Support training and development of team members within the department. Attend management and sales meetings as needed. Travel to customer sites, company facilities, and training events when required. Support company quality, safety, and environmental management systems and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications 3-5 years of estimating experience in manufacturing, tooling, mold building, engineering, or related industries. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or equivalent hands-on industry experience. Experience reviewing and interpreting CAD data, blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Understanding of injection mold construction and manufacturing processes. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications CAD software or CAD viewer experience. Power BI experience. Aerospace industry experience. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily onsite position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods as needed. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and customers.
