Job Description

Ultraform Industries has an immediate opening for an estimator. The ideal candidate would have knowledge and understanding of prototype manufacturing, repetitive manufacturing processes in a metal stamping and wire forming environment. The manufacturing processes can incorporate stamping and/or wire forming, vertical forming, robotic welding, assembly, and validation/inspection. The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office as well as have the ability to learn other systems as required.

QualificationsExperience estimating in a metal forming environment for a minimum of 3 yearsJob purposeReviews, estimates, and prices labor, materials, purchased items and outside services initiated by a customer's request for quotation. Responsible for estimating hours and material costs related to Requests for Quote (RFQs) received by client and potential clients. The ability to interface with customers as well as internal departments is a must. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Estimate realistic, accurate, and achievable hour/material costs so a competitive quote can be provided to the customer.
  • Determine price and lead time to be used for the quotation.
  • Confer with other individuals in manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering for any additional information needed to prepare the quotation.
  • Meet with approved outside vendors.
  • Must be self-directed
  • Must be able to deliver under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Additional job duties as assigned
