Job Description
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Estimator will be responsible for analyzing customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for fabrication projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, understands the nuances of metal fabrication, and can balance speed with precision.Key Responsibilities:
Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to determine project scope and requirements Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, machining, welding, finishing, and outsourcing Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to validate pricing and lead times Identify cost‑saving opportunities and recommend value‑engineering options Maintain and update estimating tools, pricing databases, and historical cost records Communicate clearly with customers regarding quote details, assumptions, and timelines Support sales and project management teams with technical insights during the quoting processRequired Qualifications:
3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing or fabrication estimating Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding, machining, finishing) Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Proficiency with estimating software and/or CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP
systems) Excellent math, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Strong communication and organizational abilities High attention to detail and accuracyPreferred Qualifications:
Experience in custom fabrication or job‑shop environments Knowledge of material types, thicknesses, and sourcing Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles Ability to work independently and manage multiple quotes simultaneouslyWhat We Offer:
