We are seeking a Commercial Plumbing Estimator to expand the estimating capacity of our commercial team. This is an incremental role focused exclusively on preconstruction and estimating, allowing our operations leadership team to stay focused on project management, field execution, and customer relationships. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical and strategic side of bidding commercial plumbing work and wants to focus on building accurate, competitive estimates. Position Summary The Commercial Plumbing Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and profitable estimates for commercial plumbing projects. This role works closely with our VPs of Plumbing Operations, who currently lead both estimating and project management efforts. The primary objective of this role is to increase bid capacity, improve estimating turnaround times, and support continued responsible growth of our commercial division. Key Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid packages for commercial plumbing projects Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for underground, rough-in, top-out, fixtures, equipment, and specialty systems Develop labor and material budgets using historical cost data and field production assumptions Solicit vendor and supplier quotations Identify scope gaps, exclusions, bid risks, and clarification items Prepare bid proposals, scope letters, and alternates Support value engineering and budget pricing exercises Collaborate with VPs of Plumbing Operations to align estimates with field execution realities Maintain estimating templates, cost databases, and historical production records Assist in improving estimating processes, standardization, and speed Participate in pre-bid walkthroughs and internal bid reviews as needed Qualifications 3+ years of commercial plumbing estimating, plumbing field leadership, or relevant construction estimating experience Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems and installation methods Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and bid documents Strong Excel and digital takeoff software skills Excellent organizational discipline and attention to detail Ability to work on multiple bids simultaneously and meet deadlines Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with operations leadership High level of ownership and accountability for estimate accuracy Preferred Background Experience estimating or as a take-off specialist in plumbing or related fields (ie., pipe insulation, mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, etc.) Familiarity with value engineering and conceptual budgeting Experience building labor assumptions from field productivity knowledge Why This Role Matters This position directly supports the growth and scalability of Linek Plumbing Company's commercial division by allowing leadership to focus on operations and customer delivery while expanding our ability to pursue more high-quality opportunities.
