Job Description

Team Member Expectations Estimator Team member is responsible for leading the estimating efforts on prospective projects for the Site Division. Team member must have the actions and appearance that represents the Sanford Contractors brand at all times.

Core Duties:
Lead by example Be punctual, dependable, and professional at all times Work with cost effectiveness, profitability, and safety in mind Lead the safety effort by including safety of team members in the estimating/bidding process Review advertisements for bid opportunities Cultivate, maintain relationships with owners Define scope to be priced, communicate with rest of estimating team Ensure pricing is procured for all scopes Complete accurate bids/budgets on projects Coordinate document review in a timely manner Submit questions for clarifications and distribute answers accordingly Review takeoffs for accuracy Select subcontractors to request pricing and analyze for best price Negotiate with subcontractors as needed to meet project requirements and budgets Review addenda and incorporate as needed Negotiate with owners/developers/general contractors Provide package for Project Managers and Superintendents prior to construction Keep field personnel updated with current project information Participate in pre-construction meetings with project team members Assist in project billings Perform project cost reviews and volume updates Be willing to go the extra mile with surges in workloads Communicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice to make plans for changing personnel to focus on the priorities Willingness to work hours as required
Education/Training/Certification:
Vocational or High School Diploma/Associates/Technical or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience in the field of estimating Take-Off/Estimating Software OSHA Supervisor Training MSHA Part 46 Training Level II Erosion Control Supervisor Trenching and Shoring Competent Person WZ Traffic Control Supervisor Rigging First Aid/CPR Sanford Contractors is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer Experience and License Requirements Civil Construction (optional)
