About the Company We are seeking an experienced Civil & Environmental Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction and environmental projects. This role combines traditional civil estimating with environmental scopes such as earthwork, utilities, environmental remediation, vapor mitigation systems, and specialty liners. The estimator will work closely with project managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to support successful project execution from bid through closeout. About the Role Key Responsibilities Estimating & Preconstruction Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for: Site work and earthwork Utilities (storm, sanitary, water) Environmental remediation projects Vapor intrusion mitigation systems Geomembranes, liners, and specialty environmental materials Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and environmental reports (Phase I/II, RAPs, RAWPs, etc.) Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes Develop bid pricing, alternates, and value engineering options Identify risks, assumptions, exclusions, and constructability issues Project Support Assist project managers with budgets, job cost forecasting, and change order pricing Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope review meetings Support project handoff from estimating to operations Maintain historical cost data and unit pricing databases Environmental Compliance Understand environmental regulations, permits, and compliance requirements Account for environmental controls such as: Soil handling and disposal Groundwater management Health and safety requirements Environmental monitoring and reporting Qualifications Required 5+ years of estimating experience in civil construction and/or environmental contracting Strong knowledge of: Site work and utility construction Environmental remediation practices Construction means and methods Ability to read and interpret civil and environmental plans and specs Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, HeavyBid, or similar) Strong Excel skills Excellent organizational and communication skills Preferred Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, or related field Experience with vapor mitigation systems, liners, or environmental containment systems Familiarity with NJDEP, NYSDEC, or similar regulatory agencies Field experience in civil or environmental construction Pay range and compensation package Competitive salary based on experience Health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off Opportunities for growth within a specialized civil/environmental contractor Work Environment Office-based with periodic site visits Fast-paced, deadline-driven estimating environment Collaboration with field and management teams Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
