About Us Extreme Construction Inc. is a leading installer of structural steel, cold-formed steel (CFS) load-bearing wall systems, composite floor systems, windows, and doors throughout New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Eastern Pennsylvania. We work with owners, developers, and general contractors on multifamily, senior living, mixed-use, and commercial construction projects, delivering quality workmanship, reliability, and efficient project execution. We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team and support our continued growth. Position Overview The Structural Steel Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction drawings, material takeoffs, labor costing, and project planning. This position works closely with management, project managers, vendors, and clients to develop complete and competitive bid proposals. Responsibilities Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents. Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing. Prepare detailed cost estimates, bid proposals, and budget forecasts. Identify project risks and opportunities during the bidding process. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, detailers, and field personnel. Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information. Assist with value engineering and alternative pricing options. Track awarded projects and compare estimated versus actual costs. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals. Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and installation practices. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings. Experience with quantity takeoff and estimating software. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, and On-screen Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. Construction-related degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
