Job Description

Residential Project Estimator Rio's Construction LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Residential Project Estimator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for reviewing residential construction projects, preparing accurate estimates, communicating with clients and vendors, and helping ensure projects are properly priced from start to finish. The ideal candidate has experience estimating residential renovations, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, decks, and new construction projects. They must be organized, professional, confident reading plans, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, blueprints, specifications, scopes of work, and client requirements.
  • Visit project sites as needed to take measurements and evaluate existing conditions.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, permits, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
  • Build estimates and proposals
  • Identify production factors, project risks, and conditions that may affect pricing or scheduling.
  • Request, review, compare, and analyze bids from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive costs.
  • Work closely with project managers, field supervisors, designers, architects, engineers, and clients to understand project needs.
  • Present estimate details to management and assist with proposal revisions when needed.
  • Assist with tracking project expenses, change orders, and budget adjustments throughout the project.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, vendor pricing, subcontractor bids, and project documents.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients. Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a residential construction estimator, project estimator, project manager, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction, including renovations, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, decks, flooring, and/or new construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Experience creating detailed labor and material estimates.
  • Strong math, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with construction estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and email communication.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with an office and field team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
