Role Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Estimator located in Irvington, NJ. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project blueprints and specifications, conducting site visits, preparing cost estimates, communicating with subcontractors and vendors, and submitting bids. Additionally, the Senior Estimator will collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposal and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for architectural millwork and other projects . Prepare clear, complete, and accurate estimates based on Architectural drawings. Review blueprints raise/resolve questions/issues/concerns regarding the projects, scopes, and identify special requirements during the bid process. Negotiate costs effectively and diligently follow up on submitted bids until final selections are completed. Proactively and regularly reach out to clients to discuss estimates until work has been awarded. Communicate with clients, sub-contractor, vendor reps, and manufacturers during the estimating process. Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the manager.
Qualifications:
3 years' experience in Millwork or Construction. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in project estimation software Knowledge of construction methods and materials Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
