Sheet Metal Estimator

Position Overview MidAtlantic Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented Senor Sheet Metal Estimator to join our growing Estimating team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial HVAC and sheet metal projects, supporting our preconstruction efforts, and helping secure new work. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications Analyze plans, bid documents, and project requirements to determine scope of work Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for HVAC and sheet metal systems Develop bid proposals, including pricing for labor, materials, and equipment Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and site visits as needed Submit RFIs and clarify scope questions during the bidding process Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate bids Utilize estimating software (e.g., FastDuct) and internal systems to build estimates Track and review historical project data to improve estimate accuracy Identify cost discrepancies and provide solutions through analysis Qualifications 5+ years of experience in estimating (sheet metal or HVAC preferred) Strong understanding of HVAC systems and sheet metal ductwork Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Experience with estimating software (FastDuct or similar strongly preferred) Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) What We're Looking For Detail-oriented and highly accurate Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines Strong problem-solving mindset Team player with a proactive approach Why MidAtlantic Mechanical?
