Position Overview:

ASAP is seeking an experienced Senior MEP Estimator to support major aviation infrastructure projects at a leading international airport in Newark, NJ. This role is part of a long-term airport redevelopment program and requires a seasoned estimator with proven experience delivering MEP cost estimates for aviation projects. This is an on-site position offering the opportunity to work on high-profile transportation infrastructure projects within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and design documents to prepare detailed MEP cost estimates Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and related systems Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed (100% CD) cost estimates using historical data and industry benchmarks Source and validate current market pricing from contractors, vendors, suppliers, and cost databases Review and validate estimate inputs within enterprise estimating tools to ensure accuracy and completeness Finalize unit pricing based on project scope, logistics, phasing, and site constraints Compare estimates to historical benchmarks and identify cost drivers and variances Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to define scope and resolve gaps Prepare cost reconciliations between internal estimates and contractor bids Support value engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies Assist with additional estimating-related duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 7+ years of MEP estimating experience , specifically on aviation/airport projects Proven experience preparing estimates from conceptual through construction document phases Strong understanding of MEP systems, installation methods, and airport project logistics Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, On-Screen Takeoff (or similar), and enterprise estimating tools Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field Prior experience working with airport authorities or aviation agencies Familiarity with union labor environments and public-sector procurement processes

Pay:

$140,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
