Job Description

Summary As an Entry‑Level Quantity Surveyor, the primary responsibility is to support Cost Value Reconciliation activities within specialized construction areas to assist with the continuous economic appraisal of projects. This role supports senior team members by assisting with quantity takeoffs, cost reviews, and project documentation while gaining practical exposure to cost control and commercial project processes. The position requires the ability to review drawings, specifications, and related materials with guidance, along with strong attention to detail and a commitment to meeting established timelines. This role is required to be on site and includes participation in site walks and field observations as needed to support quantity verification and project understanding. Work is detailed and task‑oriented in nature, requiring a careful, methodical approach, adherence to established procedures, and the ability to apply feedback and direction effectively.   • Prepare quantity takeoffs from construction drawings under the guidance of senior team members
  • Assist with the review of draft tender documentation to help ensure systems and components are captured
  • Support the initial review of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and contract related materials
  • Assist in preparing and tracking tender documentation questions for consultants or clients to help clarify missing or unclear information
  • Attend technical meetings and weekly progress meetings as required for learning and coordination purposes
  • Support the preparation of electrical cost estimates, including assisting with pricing, material quantities, and labor inputs
  • Assist with issuing requests for quotations to subcontractors and suppliers and support comparison of received quotes
  • Help maintain and update approved subcontractor and supplier information as directed
  • Assist in developing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from tender drawings and specifications under supervision as needed
  • Support correspondence with consultants or other project stakeholders related to technical clarifications and documentation
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as planning, procurement, finance, and administration to gather required submission documents
  • Assist with basic cost tracking, documentation, and support activities related to cost control efforts
  • Support cost analysis activities for bids, change items, or scope adjustments as directed
  • Interpret electrical drawings and specifications to identify components and quantities with guidance and review
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs and assist in evaluating cost proposals
  • Assist in reviewing executed work quantities against drawings and specifications for learning and verification purposes
  • Support the preparation and coordination of drawings or documentation as required
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication along with a willingness to ask questions and learn
  • Required onsite presence, including participation in site walks to support quantity validation and cost control activities
  • Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
  • Job requires intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills
  • Other duties, activities and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Relevant work experience in the construction industry may substitute for the degree
  • Basic familiarity with MEP based projects is a plus
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Estimating/Quantity Surveying software, and/or AutoCad, a plus
