Junior Estimator

Are you looking to start a career in concrete estimating? As an entry-level Junior Estimator for a concrete construction company, you will have an opportunity to grow in the preconstruction estimating field. Sound Crete specializes in lightweight cellular, gypsum underlayment, lightweight concrete, waterproofing and Structural Steel Fireproofing. In this role, you will support the management and sales staff to ensure the smooth operation of the estimating and preconstruction process. Junior Estimators are responsible for defining problems, interpreting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions that represent the company's interests. Overall, this role offers a great opportunity for growth and development in the field of concrete estimating. Job Duties

• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely estimates for multiple projects.
• Preform detailed takeoff quantities for bidding purposes.
• Review project plans and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
• Support the estimating team in managing bid schedules and deadlines.
• Assist in value engineering and material analysis to ensure competitive pricing.
• Update project status, workflow, and details on company Salesforce CRM.
• Learn gypsum underlayment process and applications. Basic Qualifications Skills
• Able to read, analyze and interpret technical to include architectural, mechanical, and structural plans a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Candidates should have strong computer literate skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and other estimating software programs. Bluebeam/ On-screen takeoff software experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and self-motivated, while working in a strong team environment.
• Experience in Construction-related fields a plus. Education and Experience
• 1-2 years of experience in construction estimating or related field a plus.
• Ability to learn and grow in the field of preconstruction estimating.
• Knowledge of construction materials and process a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Employee required to remain in a seated position for continuous periods of time.
• Employee required to work on a computer on a regular basis for a continuous period.
• Employee regularly pick up objects with their fingers.
• Employee required to raise or lower objects from one level to another occasionally during the day, 5 to 50 pounds.
• Employee required, on a regular basis, to push, pull and carry 2-5 pounds of files
• Employee required to walk considerable distances in the facility and on job site.
