$90K-$110K + Benefits We are currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable civil contractor specializing in paving and infrastructure projects across Long Island. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, our client is looking to appoint a Junior Estimator to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop a career within civil construction estimating. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced estimators and project teams, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of paving and sitework projects.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of cost estimates and bid submissions for paving and civil construction projects Review plans, specifications, and tender documentation Complete quantity take-offs and assist with pricing exercises Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations Maintain bid records and estimating databases Liaise with project managers, vendors, and internal teams Support pre-construction and tender activities from initial enquiry through submission
Requirements:
Previous construction, internship, or estimating experience beneficial but not essential Strong numerical and analytical abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Knowledge of estimating software is advantageous Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications is a plus Excellent attention to detail and communication skills Motivated individual eager to learn and build a long-term career
