Leading providers of plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and sustainable building services is seeking a Senior Estimator is responsible for leading the preparation of budgets, cost estimates, and pricing strategies for large-scale plumbing and mechanical construction projects. This role oversees the full estimating lifecycle, from preconstruction through project award, while helping establish and maintain estimating processes, tools, and best practices that drive consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical estimating expertise with practical field knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, project teams, and leadership. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed budgets, proposals, change orders, and cost estimates for large-scale plumbing projects and related building systems. Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to accurately define project scope and pricing requirements. Identify project risks and evaluate potential cost impacts throughout the estimating process. Develop conceptual and preliminary estimates based on early-stage project information. Communicate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding pricing, scope clarifications, and estimate development. Participate in project meetings, including preconstruction, in-progress job reviews, buyout discussions, and project closeout activities as needed. Evaluate design alternatives and recommend cost-effective solutions based on constructability, engineering considerations, and material availability. Conduct project reviews and site visits to validate assumptions, assess conditions, and support estimating accuracy. Assist in developing and maintaining estimating standards, procedures, and tools to improve departmental performance and consistency. Qualifications Required Minimum of 10 years of estimating experience within plumbing, mechanical, construction, or a closely related industry. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and project costing. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Field experience within plumbing or mechanical construction. Plumbing license or equivalent industry certification. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally kneel, bend, reach, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to travel to project sites as needed. Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary of $150,000
