Job Description
Construction Estimator Westchester County, NY Position Overview The Estimator to supports business development and project acquisition efforts through detailed cost estimating, document review, and project buyout. This role works closely with the preconstruction and operations teams to deliver accurate, competitive bids and ensure a smooth transition from award to construction. Responsibilities Manage bid documents, project files, and procurement logs throughout preconstruction process Review bid requirements including bonding, insurance, and compliance documentation Coordinate with design and preconstruction teams on RFIs, addenda, logistics, safety, and phasing Solicite subcontractor/vendor pricing and develop bidder lists Perform quantity takeoffs, prepare estimates, and develop preliminary schedules Evaluate subcontractor bids, conduct scope reviews, and assist with pricing negotiations Prepare bid submissions, respond to post-bid clarifications, and supported value engineering efforts Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and coordinate project turnover to operations team Requirements 5+ years of estimating or construction experience Proficiency in Takeoff, Timberline Estimating, and Microsoft Office What we offer Competitive Salary 100% Employer-paid Medical Benefits, Company Pension Plan with 7% contribution PTO, Sick, Holiday, Maternity/Paternity leave The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
