Residential Construction Estimator / Purchaser

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Residential Construction Estimator/Purchaser to join our team. This role is critical to the success of our projects, requiring a strong understanding of residential construction methods, subcontractor pricing, and project coordination. The ideal candidate thrives under tight deadlines, communicates effectively with both internal teams and clients, and plays an active role in ensuring projects stay on budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for residential construction projects Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers Ensure all pricing is completed in advance of customer budget meetings Collaborate with ownership to present project pricing to clients Attend design meetings with customers and interior designers to align scope and budget Track and manage job costs throughout the lifecycle of each project Coordinate purchasing of materials and ensure timely delivery to job sites Maintain clear communication with site foremen regarding project needs and progress Monitor field requirements and proactively address material or scope changes Generate and send invoices to customers to ensure timely payments Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and cost tracking

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of residential construction practices and sequencing Experience with estimating, purchasing, or project coordination in construction Understanding of subcontractor pricing structures and bid leveling Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines Strong communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities Proficiency in construction management or estimating software is a plus A degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus
