Broadway Ave. Moore, OK 73160, USA •Full-Time •Salary Silver Star Construction is seeking a Senior Heavy Civil Estimator. Our employee-owned company is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team for our projects in various locations throughout the OKC Metro and surrounding areas. Silver Star Construction is seeking an individual that aligns with our core values (Safety, Dependability, Relationships, Innovation, and Quality) and adheres to them daily. Job Description Identify and solicit projects to bid within the company's core markets Analyze and interpret contract documents including engineering plans, specifications and geotechnical reports Prepare detailed cost estimates Perform quantity take-off analysis Solicit and analyze supplier and subcontractor proposals Prepare risk assessment analysis through the evaluation of contract documents and geotechnical reports Work in a team environment, assisting and training other estimators Develop standardized estimating systems and databases Strive to build effective relationships with clients, architects, engineers, specialty contractors and suppliers Read and interpret pertinent bid documents and plans Perform quantity takeoffs from civil construction plans and documents Develop the project scope and identify necessary disciplines Identify subcontractor roles Evaluate DBE participation to ensure project goals are met Identify constructability issues Identify value engineering opportunities Coordinate pre-bid activities and inquiries with the Chief Estimator Develop and review project estimates and schedules Provide direction and assistance to junior team members Develop and deliver project bid packages Supervisory Responsibility May supervise a team of junior estimators Qualifications DOT experience is a must, ODOT is preferred Knowledgeable in estimating software, such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Excel, Primavera P6, Agtek, Auto-CAD Experienced in preparing hard-bid DOT, municipal and private marketplace cost proposals Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building Construction, or Building Science; or equivalent 5-10-year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Five (5) or more years of experience in civil construction Prior experience in an estimating team environment Proficient mathematical and computer skills Must be highly motivated, organized, and possess a strong positive worth ethic A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines Highly detail oriented with the ability to recognize discrepancies Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment Salary and Benefits Salary based on skills and experience Health, dental, vision, life, short term disability 401(k) ESOP PTO and 6 paid holidays EOE - Encourage ALL "qualified" candidates to apply in person at 220 Industrial Blvd. Moore, OK 73160, online at silverstarconst.com, or feel free to call (405) 317-7680 for assistance!
