Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drafting/Job Estimator to join our dynamic design and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, schematics, and detailed estimates that support project planning and execution. Your expertise will ensure accurate cost projections, resource allocation, and design documentation, contributing to the successful delivery of projects across various sectors. The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in CAD software, drafting techniques, and construction system design, with a passion for delivering high-quality work that aligns with client specifications and project requirements. Responsibilities Develop detailed technical drawings and schematics using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, and SolidWorks to support project design and construction phases. Prepare accurate job estimates by analyzing project specifications, material costs, labor requirements, and system designs. Utilize software like SketchUp, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, and 3ds Max to create 3D models and visualizations that enhance project presentations. Collaborate with engineers, and project managers to interpret design concepts and translate them into comprehensive drawings. Review project plans for accuracy and completeness; modify drawings as needed to meet evolving project scopes. Assist in developing system designs for mechanical, electrical, or interior projects by creating detailed CAD layouts. Support the bidding process by preparing detailed cost analyses and drafting proposals aligned with client expectations. Maintain organized digital files of drawings, schematics, and estimates to facilitate efficient project workflows. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in drafting, construction documentation, and system design. Communicate effectively with team members to clarify project details and resolve technical issues promptly. Qualifications Proven experience in drafting, estimating, or related roles within the construction or design industry. Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, SolidWorks; familiarity with SketchUp is highly desirable. Knowledge of 3D modeling tools such as Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, and 3ds Max. Strong understanding of construction processes, schematic development, system design principles, and graphic design fundamentals. Ability to interpret architectural plans, mechanical schematics, and interior layouts accurately. Experience in creating detailed drawings for mechanical systems or interior projects is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in both drawing accuracy and estimate precision. Effective communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
