Oklahoma City, OK Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $95,000 a year 10 hours ago Qualifications Research Full Job Description Wood Systems Inc., a leading provider of high-quality custom woodwork and architectural millwork, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in estimating within the millwork and construction industry. The Junior Estimator will support the estimating team by assisting with cost analysis, material take-offs, and bid preparation while gaining hands-on experience in delivering accurate and competitive project estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in reviewing architectural plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand project requirements. Support the preparation of material take-offs and preliminary cost estimates for millwork and casework projects. Work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and engineers to clarify scope and project details. Help prepare and submit bid proposals within established deadlines. Assist in obtaining and organizing pricing from vendors and suppliers. Identify basic project risks and assist in evaluating cost-saving opportunities. Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and supporting documentation. Learn Wood Systems' production processes, materials, and estimating methods. Support value engineering efforts by researching alternative materials or methods. Perform quality checks on estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness. Assist with pricing change orders on awarded projects. Collaborate with internal teams to support project success and improve future estimates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience. 2+ years of experience in estimating or management within the millwork, woodworking, or construction industry. Strong understanding of woodwork fabrication, materials, and finishes. Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural blueprints and shop drawings. Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. Effective communication and negotiation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
