We're looking for a detail-driven Estimator to join our team and own the quoting process from intake to delivered proposal. This role sits at the intersection of sales and engineering. You'll translate customer requirements into complete, accurate proposals, and on won jobs, convert those proposals into actionable project setups for our field team. We're equally interested in candidates who come from a technical or field engineering background and want to transition into an estimating and project engineering role. If you're technically sharp, love getting the details right, and want a seat at the table where sales meets installation, this is the role. What You'll Do Estimating & Quoting Build complete, fully itemized quotes in Salesforce CPQ, primary equipment, auxiliary parts, mounts, cabling, labor, permits, and all associated costs Review customer stories, site survey documentation, and RFP/RFQ requirements before quoting Engage manufacturer reps and engineers for BOM support, design consultation, and complexity review Produce CCTV field-of-view layout drawings for sales presentations and installation planning Write estimating narratives documenting what was quoted, why it was selected, and how it delivers on customer requirements Sales Support Attend site surveys on larger or more complex projects as needed Participate in customer presentations, walking clients through the proposed solution Facilitate our Tuesday/Thursday Estimating Hour with the sales team Review incoming sales submissions for completeness and quality; return deficient submissions with detailed coaching feedback Project Handoff Upon job award, review the won opportunity for compliance requirements Set up projects in Fieldwire with accurate tasks, checklists, task attributes, and stage assignments Review labor allocations and resource needs before handoff to the project manager and field team Technical Resource Attend weekly project meetings and actively resolve estimating-related risks Serve as the go-to product and hardware resource for the entire Security Monster team Maintain full ownership of the Salesforce CPQ product catalog, new products, pricing, cost, and structure What We're Looking For Strong technical aptitude, you can read a site survey, an RFP, or a set of project specs and know what questions to ask Detail-first mindset; you catch gaps before they become field problems or change orders Ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines simultaneously without dropping the ball Clear written communication for narratives, coaching notes, and risk summaries Comfortable presenting proposed solutions to customers in a professional, confident manner Collaborative by nature, you work well with sales, project management, and field technicians Background That Sets You Up to Succeed Experience with low-voltage security systems (cameras, access control, or intrusion) strongly preferred Estimating or take-off experience in security, construction, or AV — or hands-on field/technical experience, you're ready to bring to the design side Familiarity with Salesforce, Fieldwire, or similar CRM and project management platforms Degree or coursework in Electronics, Information Technology, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required High school diploma required Join a team that shows up, follows through, and builds something great together.
