$34/hr.
DOE Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 3:30pm
Who We Are:
We are partnering with a well-established precision manufacturing company that specializes in plastics machining and fabrication. This team is known for producing high-quality custom components while maintaining a fast-paced, collaborative environment where accuracy, responsiveness, and craftsmanship matter. They are currently in urgent need of an experienced Manufacturing Estimator to join their team. This is a highly visible and critical role within the organization, acting as the bridge between customers, engineering, and the shop floor.
What You'll Do:
Review and respond to customer RFQs in a timely and professional manner Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and models to fully understand part requirements Build Bills of Materials (BOMs) including raw materials, hardware, finishes, and outside processing Develop manufacturing routings including sequence of operations, labor, and equipment requirements Estimate setup times, cycle times, and total manufacturing hours for machining and fabrication work Support both standard production quotes and rapid prototype RFQs with expedited turnaround times Coordinate with vendors to obtain material pricing and outsourced processing costs Communicate directly with customer engineers and project managers to clarify drawings, tolerances, and specifications Maintain quote logs and assist in tracking RFQ-to-order conversion rates Collaborate with shop leadership to validate estimates against actual production performance Prioritize multiple quotes and shifting deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail What's In It for

Have:
Minimum 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within plastics machining, fabrication, or precision machining Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T per
ASME Y14.5
Experience estimating complex machined parts including multi-setup components, tight tolerances, and secondary operations Hands-on understanding of machining and fabrication processes including milling, turning, routing, cutting, bonding, welding, or similar Familiarity with engineering plastics such as HDPE, Delrin/POM, UHMW, PTFE, nylon, polycarbonate, PEEK, etc. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work directly with engineers and project managers Ability to thrive under pressure and manage changing priorities, especially for rapid prototype and expedited projects Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience working with ERP/MRP or estimating systems
Preferred:
CNC programming or G-code experience CAM software experience CAD, SolidWorks, or STEP file review experience Experience with estimating or quoting software Associate or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Experience in
ISO 9001
environments Background supporting defense, aerospace, or industrial OEM supply chains
The Musts:
This is not an entry-level role. Candidates must have at least 3 years of proven manufacturing estimating experience to be considered. The ideal candidate is someone who truly understands the shop floor and what it takes to manufacture precision parts. You know how tolerances impact production time, understand material differences, and can confidently own the quoting process from RFQ through final proposal delivery. When things get busy and priorities shift quickly, you stay organized, sharp, and focused.
