This role is critical to the success of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil, underground utilities, piping, sewer, and storm drains. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise, gain exposure to a variety of challenging projects, and contribute to our Team's success.RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare detailed, comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including underground utilities, piping, sewer, and storm drains. 2. Review, interpret, and accurately estimate the scope of work as per project plans and specifications. 3. Conduct thorough risk and opportunity analyses for each estimate. 4. Interface with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to clarify project details and adjust estimates accordingly. 5. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. 6. Collaborate with project management teams to ensure estimates align with project schedules and logistical considerations. 7. Continually monitor industry trends and advancements to keep our estimating practices current and competitive. 8. Prepare and present estimate reports and project bids to management and clients.QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the heavy civil construction industry. 2. Extensive knowledge of underground utilities, piping, sewer, and storm drains. 3. Proficiency in using estimating software and advanced Excel skills. 4. Strong understanding of construction procedures, material properties, and industry standards. 5. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail. 6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. 7. Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure. 8. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. 9. Professional Estimator Certification is a plus. 10. Experience bidding public works/government projects 11. Ability to read and contracts and specificationsWORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is typically performed in a full time office setting (M-F; 7am to 4pm) Typical hours for this position are 40-50 hours per week Work may require daily driving to project sites for field meetings, site visits, vendor meetings Pay commensurate with experience.
